So Much To Do and So Little Time

Four months may seem like a lot of time but right now it might as well be four hours. I can't believe that we will be adding another member to our family in just under four months. There is SO much to do. The boys room is still torn apart, partially due to Chris being gone this weekend unexpectedly and partially because I have been sick. Hopefully we will be able to make significant progress in there this weekend. We have not done one thing to prepare for the new baby beyond conception. Caden's bed rails have been ordered to convert his bed to a big boy bed, but we have no mattress for it yet. Unfortunately I will end up doing most of this myself, since Chris will be in Iraq from early Jan to Mid Mar. Happy Happy Joy Joy.

Yesterday, we did manage to go out and get a Christmas tree. I like real Christmas trees, even with all the mess. So, on years that Chris is home for Christmas we get a live tree. The rest of the time I pull out the old fake tree from the basement. This year, since we are not in Florida, we actually went to a Christmas tree farm and cut down our own tree. Complete with no pictures of course. Oh well. It was a good time walking around and the trees are so much nicer than the ones you end up buying in the Wal Mart parking lot in Florida. We actually ended up with a beautiful 10 foot Blue Spruce. I will probably post pictures tomorrow since we will be setting it up and decorating it tonight. I can't wait. It really is a pretty tree.

We had our first snow this week, and the boys are loving it. It snowed almost 5 inches, and I think we still have about 3.5 on the ground. The day it snowed they were at my room at 0730 begging to go out. Caden likes it too but we have been limiting his exposure since he and mommy are still getting over being really sick. The dogs have not figured out what they think of it all. Ok, the little dogs pretty much hate it, but Kadiy seems to being taking to it ok -- in small doses. I think what Kadiy likes most is being able to see all the other animals she wants to chase. Today a group of about 15 deer went through our yard and she went crazy. Hopefully she never gets brave enough to go right up to them. So far she has kept a pretty good distance, and they don't seem too interested in trying their luck with her. It is amusing to watch.
