My mom sent this to me, and I put in my answers. I know it is another list, but they sure are interesting ways to learn more about each other.
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Usually gift wrap. I like to wrap it up so it can be difficult to get into. I guess that is the troublemaker in me coming out. I will use a bag on occasion.
2. Real tree or artificial? Real whenever possible. Artificial when Chris is out of the country.
3. When do you put up the tree? Anytime after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. 4. When do you take the tree down? Preferably before 1 Jan but definitely as soon as possible afterward.
5. Do you like eggnog? I detest eggnog, but Chris likes it.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? The black and gold ten speed bike that mom and dad got for me.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? No
8. Hardest person to buy for? Chris' family
9. Easiest person to buy for? Rusty, Zeke, and Caden
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A small Christmas tree a male friend sent to me the Christmas after I divorced. He was just a friend trying to be nice after my divorce, however it didn't exactly go smoothly with the guy I had just started dating -- Chris.LOL.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? It’s a Wonderful Life
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Whenever it is convenient to our busy family schedule. I have been done as early as October before and as late as after Christmas (on years when we go to my parents after Christmas because of deployment schedules).
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Divinity my mother makes, or chocolate pie . . .
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Currently they are all clear but they have been multicolored or single colored etc. . . throughout the years.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Angles We Have Heard on High (I think that is what it is called) and Silent Night.
18. Travel for Christmas or stay at home? It is different every year. It all depends on the deployment schedule. This year we are travelling on Christmas Day.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupit, Donner, Blitzen…But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?Rudolph (ok, I am not sure if I could have remembered them all on my own or even if all are listed here. I just left what my mother wrote. HAHAHA)
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? We had a star for many years, but 2 years ago the boys decided they wanted an angel from now on. We had nothing the first year after the star went, because we couldn't find an angel we liked. Last year we found an ok angel, but I think she will only last until we find the one we really like.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Once again, whenever it fits our schedule. We feel that although it is nice to have family Christmas and tradition it is not the day that is important as much as the time spent together. My parents even left their tree up one year and we had Christmas in April because Chris was deployed until then.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Rude Greedy people. Of course that is the most annoying thing about any time of year. I guess what I really don't like is all the people out buying gifts complaining about buying gifts. I love to give gifts. It is just something that is in me. I don't care if I don't ever get anything back. I just love to make people happy and see their face when they are surprised. If you don't like buying gifts -- DON'T.
23. What I love most about Christmas? Getting together with family and friends. Having an excuse to buy stuff for other people. Especially stuff they would never get for themselves, or it would seem too much for you to do if it weren't a holiday of giving.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
