We finally got our tree up Sunday night. We couldn't put it all together right away because we didn't have lights. Our fake tree has its own lights, and we didn't have enough of the other lights because we have never had a tree as big as this years tree. I must say I really like our tree this year. It was a bit prickly putting up ornaments, but everyone had fun -- especially Caden. We also actually got out our blow up Winnie-the-Pooh/Eeyore/Tigger on a sled. It is on the front lawn. Caden calls it MINE. Apparently he thinks it is his. Although we didn't take pictures while putting up the tree this year, I did snap a few after it was up. It is just too complicated to take pictures and keep little toddler hands out of things. After all the days decorating we watched It's a Wonderful Life. I love that movie.
As far as other Christmas stuff is concerned, it is moving slowly. We still have MANY gifts to buy, and we have not even begun to buy for the boys yet. I have a few ideas, but it is looking more and more like a last minute Christmas like last year. We did finally finish buying for Chris' family. Now we just need to mail their last few gifts to them. I did buy Christmas cards to send out to everyone, but we have not had time to go out and get pictures taken this year. It looks like this year we will be taking the old snap shot at home for our cards. Maybe we will get our yearly family photo taken after the baby arrives.
We bought the tile for the boys' room this week. I will hopefully have the room ready for Chris to install beds this coming weekend. It would be a lot easier if he were here this week, but he isn't(more on that later). I only have the trim work to do in the boys room and then we can install the tile. What we actually got was interlocking rubber mats. They are pretty cool. I think they will be almost Boy Proof. They are not glued or nailed down. They can be cleaned with a sponge and individual tiles can be removed and replaced if something should happen to "mess them up". Chris has already drawn out the plans for the beds. He is building the boys each a loft bed. I am so excited.
Chris had to go to Texas to work this week. The good new is he got to Texas. The bad news is the final leg of his flight was cancelled and he had to drive the last 3 hours to his destination. He has such wonderful travel luck. The worse news -- while he was driving to his final destination and talking to me on the phone, he accidentally went through a tool booth in the EZ Pass lane (with no EZ Pass). I can't wait to get that ticket. Oh yeah, did I mention that his bags are still going to his original destination? According to the nice airport personel, they should be there sometime this week -- maybe by Thursday.
Mischief went to the vet to get spayed today. Everything went well and she is back at home tonight. At least now we don't have to worry about her having puppies. Unfortunately we are still waiting to find out if Balou managed to get Sandi pregnant again. We are praying that she is not. If she is not then we will have her spayed sometime in Jan and then we won't ever have to worry about puppies again. Not that Sandi wasn't an awesome mother, but puppies are a handful and we already have a busy enough house.
