I think that if I could use one word to describe my life right now it would be BUSY. Of course I could use that same word for nearly the entire last 12 years of my life. It always seems that just as we are settling into a nice routine something comes along to mess up my tidy little world and make it all hectic again. I have learned to adjust quite a bit in my time with the Air Force, but I am still a "planner". I must have my lists and need to have some degree of order about me. Every time I think about the next two months my head spins with the numbers of things that must be organized, arranged, or completed.
This weekend will be another busy one. Because I will be spending it alone with Caden I hope to get quite a bit done. I am now diving head first into the packing out phase, as we will be loading a truck and making the first of several trips up to West VA the last weekend of this month. We had our first showing of the house tonight. I haven't heard from the realtor yet but hope to get some sort of feedback. An offer would be nice, and we have been praying for that since the realtor called to see if he could show it.
The weather has been really nice so the boys have been swimming every day. Caden is starting to get more comfortable with the water and is not so upset when he gets splashed. I have even been periodically dunking him to get him to start closing his mouth and he has figured it out. In the past three days he has not swallowed water once. YEAH!!
Zeke seems to have done quite a bit of thinking Monday and Tuesday this week and is better about the move, of course I anticipate that to all be squelched by another weekend with his father. We can only pray and hope for the best.
Rusty is really anxious about getting the ball moving North. His main thing right now is that with all of the cleaning and remodeling and time at his fathers, and trips, and packing and etc. . . we are a couple weeks behind where we should be in his school work. I am hoping that even with the 2 weeks with his father we will be able to get him caught up with where I want him to be before he leaves for summer camp.
Chris is off in Idaho (of all places) for his annual training with the guard. We haven't been able to talk much as he is part of the ADVON and the senior ranking there right now. They are responsible for getting everything set up for when everyone else arrives tomorrow morning. He says he is not really having fun but I am sure that is in part just to make me feel better about being here alone on the weekend. I have to give up nearly all of every week so I really hate to give up my weekends with him.
On a totally different subject, I actually took time to read a book the past couple days. It is called Six Minutes to Freedom. It was written by Kurt Muse and John Gilstrap. Some of you may recognize the name Kurt Muse or not. It is his story. The story of his rescue as a hostage of Noriega in Panama the same night they took Noriega down. It is a very good book. The reason I know about it is that one of the operators who actually pulled him out of the cell that night is one of Chris' very best friends. I highly recommend the book. It is exciting, interesting and a quick read. By the way, for those of you who do not know it Noriega is scheduled for release from prison in Miami September of 07. His plans are to return to Panama.
