Where are we now

Just a little update on what everyone is doing. It is getting close to Thanksgiving and everyone is excited to be going to Grandma's house. We will be driving over the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and coming back sometime the week after. I am not exactly sure which day yet, only that it will be sometime after Tuesday. LOL. While we are at Grandmas we are going to spend Thanksgiving eating GREAT food and hanging out with my brothers and their families. After Thanksgiving we are all going down to my grandmother's house (my mother's mother). It will be the first time in I think over 15 years that the both my brothers and I will be at her house at the same time (not to mention ALL 9 great-grandchildren). It should be a crazy time. On the way back from Bowling Green, we are hoping to stop through and see my other grandparents (my father's parents). Every time we have started to head their way since Olivia was born, they have been in Florida. Chris will be flying into my parents house from work and back out to work from my parents house after the holiday is over. It will be nice to have everyone together for the holidays.

Olivia is loving solid food. She eats anything her no teeth having mouth can manage. She has actually started chewing with her gums, so I am sure when the teeth come in it will be no problem. She is getting really fast at crawling and pulls up and scoots around on anything that will support her weight. She loves to hold your fingers and walk an is generally a very happy baby. She has even gotten better at staying in the nursery at church and letting other people hold her.

Caden is turning three next week. Holy Cow where has all the time gone. He is getting so big. We have been spending a lot of time with new home schooling friends (Sharon and Beth and their families) we have made, and he is really enjoying his time playing with others. He has been working on his preschool work still. His colors, shapes, and numbers 1-10 are really coming along. He also recognizes some of his letters now and likes to repeat the alphabet after me. His favorite thing to do right now is build with Legos, blocks, train tracks, Lincoln logs, anything you can build with.

Ezekiel is doing good in third grade. We finally figured out long division, WHEW. It was really a stumbling block for him. He had no problem with each step, but remembering where to put the numbers and which step came next was really giving him trouble. Of course, Spelling is Spelling, and he still loves History more than anything. His drum playing is actually starting to sound like real music, and he is doing well in the Music Theory I am teaching him at home. He likes the recorder and so after he finishes the 2 music theory books I will get my clarinet re corked and teach him some clarinet. That should be fun. LOL. He finished the home school swimming lessons, and really learned a lot. Watching him in the races at the end of the class made me really excited to see what he can do next year when he starts private swim lesson. He did very well, and is really fast. Thanks to our new friends Beth and her kids, we have discovered a nice Karate school. Now Zeke will be able to start back in Karate. He is so excited. So, homeschooling PE and swimming have stopped and now Karate and Upwards basketball are getting ready to start.

Russell is doing well academically, as always. He is cruising through the 7th grade work. We have had a few hurdles (attitude), but seem to be back on track now. He did really well in the Home school swim class, and even learned to do the flip and kick off the wall when racing. PE was fun for him too. Although a lot of the PE felt like a big recess time, he did learn about Lacrosse which is a new sport to him, and is actually interested in possibly playing it when he goes to high school. He will be doing upwards basketball and then playing soccer in the spring. He is still taking guitar lessons and is actually having a recital just after Thanksgiving. We have definitely entered the teenage years, attitude, body odor, and girls. LOL. He has a few friends that are girls, and one girl who is "smitten" with him and chases him EVERYWHERE. We talk about it a lot. It is kinda funny. He is trying very hard to be nice and yet not leading to the girl who chases him, but in his words, "She's not my type, and yes, I do have a type." Too funny.

In other news, I have started kind of a running club with my boys(13,8), Sharon's oldest son Jacob (9)and Beth's daughter Toni(13)and her son Kenneth(10). We have built up to where almost everyone in the group can do 2 miles without stopping, an hope that we will be able to run a race in January or February. I would like to open it up to more kids, but right now an informal group is the most I have time for. We run three times a week whenever we can fit it into our home school/activiies schedule. It has been really fun.
