The Election
I have to say although not unexpected, the results of last nights elections make me sad. I had a hard time sleeping last night. I kept telling myself what my mother said -- God is in charge. Even if we don't like the results, God is in charge and his plan is bigger than we are. I also remind myself that times have been worse than these: The great depression, Two World Wars, Theodore Roosevelt. There have been other times when the candidate seemed likely to destroy the country with their ideals. At times like these we need to have faith and find our place in whatever plan God has. As my brother said there are a few things we must do: 1. We must must must regain control of our schools. 2. We must gain control of our local and state government with this we effect change from the ground up . 3. Yes, pray-- more importantly stop compromising when it comes to the word of God. 4. Prepare and raise our children in the Word. The last thought I will leave you with, as we wake up on this morning where the terrorists are already demanding that Pres-elect Obama make dramatic changes in our foreign policy is : There are others like us. We are not a horribly outvoted minority in this country. Despite what the liberal media would have everyone believe of the 210,000,000 eligible voters in this country only roughly half 118,000,000 voted, and the difference was only 5% (approx 7,000,000 votes) more in favor of Obama.

Yep, I agree. I was sad last night too, and I woke up a few times having had odd, restless dreams. I keep thinking, "God is in control", and I was also contemplating worse times that have happened in the past. The best thing we can do is raise godly children, I think, at this point. And I totally agree with your brother about taking back the schools--that is where the democrats are winning the hearts and minds of the nations' kids, even if their parents tell themselves, "Well, we send them to Sunday school and Awanas on the weekend". It's not enough.
