It sure is a good thing we moved fast for the first part of the school year. Being ahead for so long has really helped with the fact that we are behind now. Despite my best efforts, it has been slow going since Olivia was born. We have been traveling a bit with Daddy and I of course forgot to take their school work with me so that put us even further behind. We did learn a lot on our trip through our activities and online study, but made no progress through the school books. We have also been going out a lot lately, and that makes for a short day to get school work done. Maybe on our trip next week we will catch up a little.(HAHAHA)
I recently heard of a local recreation center that had field days for homeschoolers. After doing online research I found out that it is a Christian Day Camp and conference center. It is AWESOME. It is only 15 minutes from our house. The boys went to the end of the school year field day yesterday from 9am to 130pm($10 a piece). They had a blast. The facility has hay rides and forts and zip lines and kayaking and canoeing and a petting zoo and riding horses and a heated outdoor swimming pool etc. . . and it is a CHRISTIAN facility. I am so excited. They have summer week long Day camps as well, and I think the boys are going to go to a couple of them just to get out of the house and play with other kids during the summer. Did I mention how excited I am. Oh yeah, and then they have a homeschool fling at the end of August, that is free for homeschoolers to go hang out for the day.
On a somewhat separate note: I wish I had a picture but I did not have a camera with me. Caden rode the zip line at the Rec center yesterday. It was about 75 feet high at it's highest point, and about 200 yards across. He did it twice, and loved it. Everyone was shocked that a two year old would do it and actually jump off the platform himself, when they have teenagers who won't. I guess he is a lot like his Daddy -- let's just hope he waits a while before he starts talking about jumping out of airplanes.
