Got a lot done

Well, last week Chris went out West for his Annual Training with the National Guard. Don't believe it when they say 2 weeks in the summer. Every summer We have been together it has been at least 3 weeks and this year they wanted him for 4 weeks. Anyway, shortly after he left for out west the rest of us packed up and headed to Grandma's and then to Florida.

Grandma agreed to help me with the drive down to Florida. I needed to go to the Florida house and do some work. Boy am I glad Grandma came with us. I don't know how I would have made it without her. I was able to get quite a bit done at the house. I mowed and fertilized the lawn, cleaned the pool and replaced the filter, swept and dusted the house, cleaned up the landscaping, had the termite/bug guy come out and treat, had dinner with one friend on one night and another on the other night we were there. It was a very busy week. Everyone but grandma came down with a summer cold while we were there -- MISERABLE. The baby did as well as can be expected for the long days in the car, but let's just say she doesn't appreciate the car seat. LOL.

I was so happy that on the return trip I got to hear my father preach and sing. I always love to hear him preach, but it has been so long since I heard him sing. Did I mention I love to hear him sing, and he did sign language with it too. I have always thought it was beautiful to hear him sing and watch him sign. It almost made me cry. I hope everyone appreciated as much as I did.

Sunday afternoon we had both my brothers families over at mom's house. Wow is that exhausting. We all had good food and a lot of fun conversation etc . . . My head was still spinning from it when I got home to West Virginia. We managed to get lots of pictures of the grandkids -- especially the two little girls. My mom's normally VERY ACTIVE LAB was so exhausted after a day of playing with everyone, that she literally did not move all night long. I got up a couple times during the night and she didn't even lift her head to see who was walking through the house.

We arrived home to WV Monday night and it was raining. It was good to be home if for now other reason than just to STOP. I think we passed about 30 police officers while driving through Ohio and then only 1 all the way across the state of WV. We really didn't run into any traffic all day long, and Olivia slept. She slept the entire ride and then screamed for the last 20 minutes. It was a good ride.
