It has been a very rainy week this week. Luckily for us the rain has broken enough for the boys to get outside and run of some steam. Unfortunately the fields were too wet for football practice last night. Oh well. I have been trying not to get too upset with the rain because we really have had a nice 4 months with only spurts of rain and lots of nice sunny weather. I am also very glad that the weather is finally starting to cool off. I am not sure that we are all fully prepared for our first real winter in years, but the cooler weather is nice.
Now that the foliage has begun to thin I have been able to start clearing a little more of the woods. We are trying to clear out all the invasive vines, and dead or unhealthy trees. Every little bit we do makes things look so much better, but 4 acres is a lot to clear so I think it will take us a while. Right now we are just working around the tree house so we can make it a safer area to hang out. Next summer we will finish repainting and decorating the tree house and then Chris is going to put in a Zip line for the boys. We would also like to be able to put a picnic table back there so that we can eat lunches out there sometimes. I think it will be really nice when we get it cleaned up.
Yesterday we signed Caden up for the Thomas the tank engine web site. Now he can print pictures of the trains and color sheets and listen to music. Caden is obsessed with Trains (choo-choos) He is even going to have a Thomas the Tank Engine Birthday party at his grandmothers house this year. He talks about choo-choos all day, plays with choo-choos. Eats his food to choo-choo sounds. He wakes up talking about choo-choos and goes to bed talking about choo-choos. It is all about choo-choos. I guess it probably doesn't help that we live next to a very busy railroad track. LOL.
