Caden Sings and Dances

Since birth Caden has loved to make noise. He used to coo himself to sleep and then would actually make noise with every sleeping breath -- sometimes for a couple hours after he fell asleep. He has also loved to dance. If he hears music or even a beating of someones foot or hand that sounds like a music beat he will start dancing. It is so cute. I have always sung to my children as I put then to sleep. Well, a couple months ago Caden started "singing" with me. Which of course kinda defeats the purpose of singing him to sleep since he is obviously not falling asleep while he is singing. Anyway, for a few days I stopped singing but without fail as soon as we sat in the rocker he would start his "singing". I use the term singing very broadly since he doesn't really know enough words to sing a song it was more like a sighing babbling musical lilt for a couple minutes. Since he refused to let the routine fall by the wayside, I abandoned my efforts to get him to stop singing and started singing to him again. A couple weeks after that I sang a song I had never sung to him before -- "This Little Light of Mine". Now, Caden loved that song because he knows that word MINE. It is so cute. When we go to bed each night and at nap time, he grabs his duck and his pacifier, climbs into the rocking chair and waits for me. As soon as I pick him up he closes his eyes leans his head back and starts singing "hmm hmm babble MINE -- babble babble Mine -- Hmmm Mine " I was watching him today and it was so cute I wish I could get it on film. Unfortunately I hardly think catching him with a camera as he is rocking to sleep is a feasible event. It is still fun to watch everyday.
