Well, after the basketball games last Saturday we decided to conquer the basement. Without going into too much detail. After several days of work, 4 trips to the dump, 3 trips to Lowes, and a couple of pulled muscles, we have a usable basement. We Now have some carpet in the basement and have consolidated and organized everything so we can actually be in the basement. All the workout equipment is now set up and there is a stereo system down there. Eventually we will have it set up with a TV and a place for Zeke to practice his TaeKwonDo. It is awesome to not feel like I am walking into a smelly old dungeon every time I go down there. After all the work we did the whole thing was almost destroyed when a pipe from the garage froze and burst sending tons of water into the basement. Thankfully we found it and stopped it shortly after it happened and nothing was ruined.
On Monday we drove to Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia. We went for Russell's tour and interview. It went very well. We were more impressed with the school than when we first read about it. It is where Russell wants to go to school next year. It is a Christian school supported by the Baptist Association of Virginia. Russell is really excited about the prospects of going next year, but first we have to pray that God provides the funds to make that happen.
After all the snow and ice we stayed at home on Tuesday, but Chris had to go to work for a bit on Wednesday. The whole family went to Maryland with him and we played at the arcade. The boys have been saving their tickets from Dave and Busters arcade for 2 years, and Wednesday they finally cashed them in. They got 2 WII games, a clock radio, a speaker system for an mp3 player, and Olivia got a 3 foot tall GORILLA (after all -- she is our chunky monkey).
Yesterday we had to drop Daddy at the airport. Thankfully Caden was asleep taking one of his rare "car naps", so we did not have to hear him scream for Daddy for 30 min. After we left the airport, we got to go visit with our friends. -- Sorry about the short notice phone call Claire. Although it was a short visit, it was fun as always.
Today we went back to our daily routine. It is difficult to get back into life with only one adult around, but we manage. There is just less time to go and do things, because I have more to do by myself at home. We did manage to attend the matinee of INKHEART today. It was a really good movie.
