Football Pep Rally

Friday we had a football pep rally for the Pee Wee team. This year there are 4 age group teams instead of the 3 we had last year. The age groups are broken down into 6-7 PeeWee, 8-9 Freshmen, 10-11 JV, 12-13 Varsity. Zeke is a PeeWee and Rusty is a Varsity player. It makes for a very long day of football since we have to be there an hour before the first game and then back again for the last game. So, like I said, we had a PeeWee Football BBQ and pep rally on Friday. It actually turned out quite enjoyable. Last year they had ALL the kids from all the age groups and their families at the same party. It was miserable, and you never really got to meet the parents and kids from your specific age group.

The PeeWee cheerleaders did a couple of cheers and all the boys did their first banner run through -- it was cute. It also reminded me exactly why I do not want Olivia being a cheerleader. After they ate all the boys went a block down the street to play non other than -- FOOTBALL (flag). Zeke and one other boy stayed back and played on the swing set with the younger kids. Zeke likes football but doesn't LOVE football. Sometimes I think he plays because Russell does. He loves soccer. Anyway, while we sat around getting to know the other parents Olivia was quite the hit. It doesn't hurt that she is such a smiley baby. She really makes everyone feel happy rarely fusses, and could care less who is holding her as long as they are paying her attention. It is nice that she has such a sweet temperament.

I think we were the first to leave the party, but we had already had a long day and were looking forward to another party on Saturday. We had to get home and let the dogs have some time outside, and the little ones who are sick needed to get to bed. Speaking of sick -- I am officially sick. I fought it off for over a week, but the busy scheduled compounded by two sick little ones finally did me in.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear you're sick! I hope you can get lots of rest. I know what you mean about the busy schedule. We have just been taking it easy this week, and it's been so nice.

LOL about you not wanting Olivia to be a cheerleader! I know my parents thought the exact same thing. And I'm pretty sure I don't have any desire for Anna or Grace to be ones either : )
