A Sad Day For a Chocoholic
As many of you may know I LOVE chocolate. I always have chocolate around. I have loved chocolate as long as I can remember. When my mother would take us for the occasional ice cream cone after school I always got the double scoop of chocolate and chocolate fudge. Chocolate is so yummy. Unfortunately about 2 months ago I had to curb my chocolate eating as for some reason it seemed to be giving my heart burn since I have been pregnant. So, I have been eating VERY little chocolate for the past 2 months. Then, I couldn't take it anymore and I splurged/binged whatever you want to call it. I was instantly rewarded with the worst MIGRAINE headache I have had since I stopped eating so much chocolate 2 months ago. On no -- it seems that during this pregnancy, I have developed migraines that are triggered by chocolate. It took me 3 days of non-stop, incapacitating, migraine headaches, and a little research on the internet for it to dawn on me what the cause was. Draat. So after 3 days of my chocolate binge, I stopped eating chocolate, and within 24 hours my headache was gone. How awful. I don't know if I will make it all the way to March without chocolate but I do know that I will have to limit the chocolate I have.

Oh no!!!! This has always been a secret fear of mine, because by the end of the pregnancies I am rewarding myself for getting through each day with chocolate. And then I wonder what I would be like if I couldn't have any. Wow. That stinks. Although I'm sure you and the baby will be much healthier . . . Hmmm. I'm trying to think of a good substitute . . . Chips maybe? Salty things just don't really do it for me--I never crave them. Well, I hope you find something! (And I am glad your migraine went away--at least you COULD find the cause!) : )
