God has answered our prayers. We found out yesterday that we will be having a girl in March. Chris and I are very excited. I'm not sure how the boys feel about having a girl around here. They were both kinda pulling for another boy. We were so unsure the ultrasound technician check 5 times over the course of our visit, from several different angles and each time she said it was definitely a girl. YEAH!! We actually looked at girl clothes at the mall yesterday. It was a lot of fun. However, I still feel weird walking down "the pink" aisle in the toy store. LOL. For those we did not have the time to call yesterday, or could not reach, now you know. We have also settled on a name for our new little girl. However, in the interest of having a surprise for everyone, we are not sharing the name until the baby is born. We did decide that everyone could know her middle name. RAE. It is a slight variation (more feminine) of her daddies and her grandfathers middle name.
In other news, Caden's potty training is moving along. He is doing so well, virtually on his own, that I am sure if I were to put a full time effort into it he would be completely potty trained in a couple weeks. Unfortunately I have neither the time nor the will to spend that much time on it at this age ( not 2 yet ). Despite my half effort he is making considerable progress. I did "catch him in the act" the other day and sat him on the potty. Now, he has learned another word POO-POO. When he got up -- he looked in the potty and said OHHH. It was as if he all of a sudden realized -- that is where I'm supposed to do that. So, for the past 3 days every time he needs to POO-POO he runs to the bathroom screaming POTTY POTTY POTTY. This includes 2 times while we were at the mall yesterday. The only drawback is that he knows what he is supposed to do and where he is supposed to do it but has not quite figured out that he needs to unless he is already in the process. Oh well. It is progress. Maybe he will be potty trained before the new baby arrives.
Our busy week this week is finally coming to a close. YEAH! Tomorrow is our last football for the year. Both the boys had make-up games already this week. Russell's team did really well. They almost scored 2 times against the team that beat them 57-0 last time, and only lost 31-0 this time. A big improvement over the season. Russell had his best game this year. He got an interception in the first series of the game, giving his team their first chance to score. In addition to the interception he got credit for 11 tackles, and carried the ball more than ten times. He never carried for a loss although he did get stopped at the line of scrimmage once, and he had one awesome run for 14 yards. We were so proud of him. Zeke's team actually went into overtime and lost. That is the second time this year they have lost in overtime. They worked so hard. It was sad to see them loose. Zeke even got his name called over the speaker for making a tackle and stopping the other team from scoring a touchdown. Unlike Russell, Zeke only plays one side of the ball. He only plays Defense, but is starting to really catch on and get involved in more plays.
