No Longer Red

The boys room is no longer red. I finished the first coat of paint for their new room today. I don't think I realized that I didn't like the red or even how much I didn't like the red, until I painted over it today. Ahh, the room is so much more peaceful now. I don't know how to describe it, but the feeling you get when you walk into the room is definitely very different with the new color. Tomorrow I hope to find time for the second coat, and then we have to tape and paint the trim and wood work. I can't wait to see the finished product.

It was a nice day out today, so the boys got to play outside. That was nice. Caden especially has been really wanting to get out side but with it being wet/raining and cold out I have been keeping them in. Caden already had a cold, and I didn't want it any worse. They rode bikes and in general just did boy stuff outside. Which of course includes picking on each other and fighting. LOL.

Next summer we have to replace the horrible pump on our pool. Since we can't count on it to keep water flowing for more than a few hours at a time, we were faced with a delima. Ultimately we decided we could not risk the water in the pipes freezing and cracking over the winter, because of the bad pump. So, we are pumping all 30,000+ gallons of water out of the pool, at 8 gallons a minute. Luckily the pump doesn't need us sitting there watching. Hopefully next year after we have the piping checked, and the liner checked, and replace the filtration system (chlorine for salt) and rerun the electric . . . hahaha, the pool will be a stress relief not a stressor. Like I keep saying -- It's a good thing we intend to stay in this house until the kids are all grown. We have plenty of time to get it the way we want it.

The football season is completely over. The boys had a great time. Russell had two really good games to finish out the season, and Zeke really started to pick it up towards the end there. I have never looked forward to the end of the football season before, but I was almost glad it ended this year. Not because I didn't want to watch the boys play anymore, but because it is not so enjoyable to sit in the freezing cold dark at all those practices. It gets dark an hour earlier here than in Florida, and it is a WHOLE LOT COLDER. The dark and cold is not so bad for me and those playing football, but sure does make it hard for trying to entertain a toddler.

Oh, I can only imagine how nice the room is without the red AND without the "funk"! I am so glad you got to the bottom of that, LOL! I only can tolerate red in maybe a dining room--anything else, and it is just too . . . vibrant or something.

So, when are you going to work on the dark family room? Good thing you don't have anything else going on in your life, like you know, being pregnant or anything, what with all these big projects, LOL. : )
