Sleep and Sunshine

As the title says I could definitely use some sleep and sunshine. It has been dreary and rainy here since about Wednesday of last week. At this point I am only hoping that it will stop raining long enough for me to mow the lawn before it gets too tall for the mower.LOL. Not to mention the fact that 66 degrees is hardly what I call August weather. AAGGHH. I am so used to being in Florida for the past 10 years that I have come to expect nothing below hmm maybe 85 degrees any time after June until October. 66 Degrees? Now that is down right cold and in the middle of August. Ok now I guess I have said enough about the weather. I sure could use some sunshine though. hahaha.

So I finally started feeling like I was going to kick this bug that I had and then Caden got sick. He has the mother of all sickness right now. I guess when you wait nearly 2 years to get sick when you do -- it's a good one. He finally broke the fever last night but is still so congested that every time he tries to cry he starts wheezing. He is really soo pitiful. Of course all this means not much sleep for me the past 4 nights. So, I was feeling a bit better but am struggling to get back to normal as my nights consist of very little sleep. I am definitely not sleeping more than an hour at a time. I don't think I have ever missed Chris's help around the house so much as I do now. It seems we are not unpacking anymore -- although there is a lot to unpack. We just seem to be keeping up (barely) with the day to day things.

All of the little dogs had a bath today because quite frankly -- they stank. I may try to bath Kadiy tomorrow if the sun comes out a bit. Mischief wasn't too sure about her bath but the others tolerate it well, so I figure she will get used to it. We also completed our second day of homeschool for the year today. They are both doing exceptionally well in their school work right now and their attitudes aren't too bad either. Although it was pointed out to me at least once that the local kids don't start school until next week. To which I pointed out that the local kids weren't taking a vacation in the fall like we are etc. . . All in all I think it will be a really good year. Hopefully Zeke will get a handle on some of the things that his first grade teacher couldn't get through to him, and boy do we need work on Penmanship. Rusty should be able to get through a good portion of Algebra 1/2. We are starting with the Abeka 6th grade book for a bit of review and then they have a little on budgeting which I thought would be good for him, and then we will move into Saxon Algebra 1/2. Math really is easy for him and I need to find a way to make it challenging this year so hopefully Algebra will help. He is also really excited about Science this year, although at the rate he consumes his science book it will take us very little time to finish it for the year. Hopefully at the first of the year we will have settled into the new house well enough ( all unpacked :D ) so that we can sign the boys up to start their music lessons again. They both really miss it and get their instruments out every couple days to practice what they remember.

GO BEARS!! (2-0).
