Name Change

Ok, we have changed the puppy's name. After using the name Khaki for a little more than a week we discovered that it really complicates things in the house with Caden, Kadiy and Khaki. So, thanks to her wonderful personality, her new name is Mischief. It fits her very well. I don't know how people have 10 kids and name them all starting with the same letter.

Caden is cutting 2 more teeth this week. I couldn't figure out why he was not sleeping well, until I saw the new teeth poking through this afternoon. Maybe that means he will actually have all his teeth by the time he turns 2. That sure would be nice.

We went to work with Chris Thursday and took the boys to the outlet mall for lunch and the arcade. We go to the big arcade about once a month for an outing. They actually have plastic cards like credit cards there that you can store your tickets and tokens on from one time to the next. The boys have been there 4 times since March and have saved up almost 4,000 tickets. The cool thing is that this place actually has some really cool big prizes that the boys can save up for, so you don't just end up coming home after each trip with a bunch of cheap little toys that get lost or broken in the first day. Oh yeah, and no candy--I hate the fact that the best prizes at some of these places is candy.

We also went to work with Chris on Friday. Chris actually took the boys into his building, which requires going through security locked doors, and signing me in. It of course is a typical Army falling apart old building. We found out from Chris Friday that that building used to be a prison. Nice. Anyway, after stopping by his work for a few minutes, and then going to grab lunch we went to the National Zoo. It was not a bad zoo, but to think that it is the "national" zoo is very dissapointing. There were so many exhibits closed, and I was amazed that it really stank. Not that zoo's don't smell, but I have never been to a zoo that smelled that bad. It was really cool seeing the Giant Panda, but I think next time we may try going to the Baltimore Zoo. After we left the zoo we took the route home through Virginia instead of Maryland like we usually do. It was actually a pleasant drive.

We took the boys to Lowes today and bought the paint for them to repaint their tree house. Besides actually needing a fresh coat of paint, the original owners painted it to match the house, and off white and blue just don't suit the boys. So, it will be Black, dark Brown, and Forest Green when they are done painting it. Luckily I was able to convince them that an actual camo paint job was much too difficult so we would just use those colors.

Chris leaves Thurs day afternoon. It will be the first deployment in the new house. I hope I am ready to manage things here. I am still trying to find my way around ( not to mention needing a new eye doctor, dentist, pediatrician etc. . . ) and really don't have any kind of network of friends yet. Hopefully we will continue to meet people through church and football. I am actually going to attempt a trip to Florida while Chris is gone. I will spend one day there checking up on the house and watching my friend Mari pin on Major, and then it is back up to West Virginia
