Zeke "lost" two teeth today

Well, today was the day. Zeke had to have 2 baby teeth pulled today to make room for his adult teeth. It seems this will be an ongoing issue for us as he looses and gains teeth. His little mouth is not big enough for all his adult teeth ( even with one of them missing ). He may eventually even need to have adult teeth pulled for lack of space in his mouth -- OUCH. He got the laughing gas and took it like a champ. Then he got to have a chocolate milkshake for breakfast. By this afternoon he was back to his normal self and the teeth are resting snugly under his pillow awaiting the tooth fairy.

Speaking of teeth. Caden now officially has 2 Bicuspids on the right side of his mouth. So, eating is getting easier. Now if we can only convince him to CLOSE his mouth when he gives kisses. LOL.

Russell and I have done very little school work in the last week. Just basically -- slowly trudging through his research paper on President Garfield. I have just had too much to do around the house and I have needed him to help with Caden. He has been such a great big brother. Feeding, changing, dressing, playing with Caden. I am so grateful to have him around, and Caden LOVES his big brother. He is trying so hard to say Russell's name. Sometimes it comes out Bubble and then sometimes it is Bubby. He concentrates so hard and then says something you know is supposed to be Russell but isn't. Then, he looks at you with this HUGE grin waiting for you to tell him how good he said it.

I guess the one who has tolerated all the remodeling and busyness least is Kadiy ( the mastiff ). She has not eaten much the past week and seems scared that I am going to leave her again ( of course I am -- but not at the kennel, this time I have a friend staying at the house to watch the dogs ).

The boys actually swam in the pool for about an hour today. It was 85 outside but the pool water took some getting used to. They had fun playing together this afternoon and the day ran so smoothly with out the interruption of going to pick up Zeke from the bus. I so can't wait to have both of them at home all day. After they played outside for about 3 hours they were a big help with the outside chores I needed to get done. Caden cooperated splendidly by taking a 3 hour nap while we did our outside work.

The yard is really looking nice --"curb appeal" See I am doing my home work for the sell. I wanted to call the realtor this Friday but will wait til Monday next week. I still have too many things to tidy up around the house before he comes out. Chris will be at Natl Guard Drill Weekend and the older boys will be with their father -- again -- since I have then the next 2 weekends in a row. So, it will just be me and Caden and all this cleanup. YEAH!!

We have already bought boxes to start packing, and as soon as we are done getting the house ready for sell then I will start "de-cluttering" via PACKING. I am so excited to just get everything packed up and outta here.

Hey, I can empathize with Zeke! I had to have a bunch of baby teeth pulled because my mouth was too small. I faithfully saved them, because they really do look cool with the intact roots. Then when I taught a unit at our co-op on teeth, I brought them in to show the kids. They were pretty impressed, LOL.

Glad to hear the house stuff is coming right along. It makes me tired just to read all you are doing! I hope you get tons of packing done this weekend!!
