Well, maybe not so much on the growing thing. She is still a tiny thing. She is growing into quite the spirited little girl. Full of energy, she loves pinks and purples and dolls and purses and bracelets and especially nail polish. She refuses to wear pants on most days as a princess would NEVER wear pants. She is even somewhat particular about the style of dress she prefers. It must be long and frilly and she likes it to float up when she spins like a princess. Her absolute favorite thing in the whole world is singing. She sings all day everyday. She signs everything she thinks and feels. It is so fun listening to her. Her Christmas wish list included a doll, a doll house, a pretty watch, and princess dress up clothes. She definitely is a girl. However, she can and does also hang with her brothers. She LOVES to kick balls (maybe soccer is in her future), and can cock and shoot a nerf gun with the best if them. She has no fear.
While we were in Florida, Olivia got really good at riding a scooter and a tricycle. Unfortunately she is so short even a bike with training wheels is still out of the question. She also insisted on sitting and following along with all Caden's school lessons. She us truly obsessed with letters. By the time the new year rolled around she was surprising us all with her ability to write her own name with minimal prompting and her recognition of letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. She had a really wonderful time playing with Chris' brothers' daughters at Thanksgiving and Christmas and also getting the opportunity to play with my friend Mari's 3 daughters. She doesn't get to play much with other girls her age. She especially enjoyed spending time with Grammy and Grandpa (Chris' Mom and Dad). We ended our time in Florida with a New Years Eve Fondue Party with Mari and her girls and lots of fireworks. Olivia was in heaven with that many girls in the house to play with
Since we have been back in West Virginia we went to visit my parents; otherwise know to Olivia as Grandma and Pappa. She really loves all her grandparents and just eats up all the attention as there are so few girls in the family. While at their house we went to Boonschoft with ALL the cousins and played. It was so much fun. Around the house, since Polly is no longer with us ( she went to go play at a big farm ). Olivia informed me that Mischief was now her dog. LOL. She is really starting to help with chores and insists on doing EVERYTHING for herself. She is anxiously awaiting Chris' return from deployment because then she gets to turn three. He gets home on her birthday, 11 April. All she talks about is dressing up like a princess and picking daddy up at the airplane . So I bought her a new princess outfit for her birthday present. She will get to open it and wear it that day to pick up daddy and then we are going to watch Medieval Times Dinner Show at Arundle Mills. I am so excited to surprise her with all this.
In other big news, about three weeks ago she fell out of my bed and broke her collar bone. It was a lot of work for a couple weeks but it heals quickly in small children. She is nearly 100 percent again. She even played at the water park last week and I had to scold her for jumping from her bed yesterday. The only time it comes up now is if she doesn't want to do something (then she has a hurt arm) or when one of her brothers upsets her (then they hurt her arm). Lol.
So that is the Olivia update.
