About 2 weeks ago the weather was so nice that I decided to head out for a day of fun and hiking at Shenandoah Valley Park. Well, on the way we saw this place. Dinosaurland. At first I was completely against it but it was outside and kind of in the woods, and the boys love dinosaurs. So, after finding out it would cost less than $20 for the whole family to go in, I agreed to stop. It was a lot of fun. They had a giant shark and the kid crawled inside it so it would look like they were being eaten. Olivia sat in the claw of a flying dinosaur so it looked like she was being carried away. Caden and Zeke laid underneath the foot of a big one --being stepped on. The, they all climbed up in the Giant hand of Godzilla. We read a lot about Dinosaurs and hiked through the whole forest taking lots of pictures. It took a little over an hour. I wanted to post pictures ( I will eventually ) but Russell's phone is the only camera we had with us that day and we can't download it because it is incompatible with Windows Vista. I really don't like Vista.
The next weekend we went to Grandma's house for the first of many trips over the coming months. It is so nice to live close and be able to visit after being so far away for so long ( hopefully we won't wear out our welcome ). We had to leave after Zeke's weapons class on Friday afternoon, because he was testing for his Yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do -- which he did earn YEAH!!. So, we did not get to their house until about 1 am. Thank you so much for waiting up for us Grandma and Grandpa. :) We had an enjoyable Saturday, and Grandma and I even did some shopping and bought Olivia 2 new spring dresses for $15. Awesome! After an terrific service at Grandpa's church on Sunday we went to lunch with my brother Joel and his wife Judy and their daughter Jane Ann. It was a nice lunch and a good visit. Then, we headed for the Wolf Lodge. We split a 2 bedroom suite with Grandma and Grandpa for the night. The boys had a lot of fun. We played Magi Quest (for those of you who are unfamiliar, it is a sort of a scavenger quest throughout the public areas of the hotel). I took all the kids to the water park by myself for about an hour and a half. When the Caden and Olivia wanted to rest (ok Olivia was falling asleep in my arms)we went back to the hotel, had dinner and waited for Grandma and Grandpa to get back from evening services. When they got back Grandpa went back out with the boys for more Magi Quest while grandma and I watched Beverlyhills Chiuauah. Or as Caden calls it Chika wawa dog. I thought it would be the stupidest(is that a word) movie but it was what he wanted to watch. Olivia went right down with her bottle and we watched the movie with Caden. It actually turned out to be a cute movie and it was CLEAN. I know hard to believe. Monday morning we took our time getting up and going. We let the 2 bigger boys go out together and do a little more Magi Quest while the rest of us got dressed and ate homemade bread for breakfast. Then, it was off to the Waterpark. Grandpa rode a lot of slides with Russell and Zeke, and played with Caden in the wave pool. Everyone had a great time for about 4 hours. After lunch we all headed home. We had really great time with grandma and grandpa and it was just the relaxing weekend I needed.
Now we are home. School has been going really well this week, the weather is turning much warmer and nicer, and everyone is getting sick. . .LOL. Russell and Olivia were sick at grandma's. I thought it was jut allergies but now I am not sure. Wednesday night I started getting sick and have been feeling AWFUL ever since. Then, Zeke woke up this morning feeling bad. We have been laying around sleeping it all off all day. Hopefully it will go away quickly. In spite of all the sickness, my spring cleaning continues. I was able to get all the bed clothes in the house washed yesterday, and The big boys room cleaned and reorganized. I was even able to go through Zeke's clothes today. Yeah. I only have to go through Russell's clothes now. Then, some minor cleaning in the office and kitchen areas and we are ready for company ( can't wait for your visit Stephen and Kristi ). Everything else that needs to be done will have to wait because it is all major projects.
