At Home in West Virginia

Well, everything we own is now in the state of West Virginia. I still don't know where a lot of things are exactly. I know "in general" where things are but that is about it. I guess we are about 50% unpacked and somethings can't be unpacked until we get the boys room fixed and the new beds etc. . . into it. There is still a lot to be done around the new house. I guess you could say it is more of a fixer-upper than we had anticipated. It is a good thing this is where we plan to stay until the kids are all grown ( of course plans change -- LOL -- but I am in no mood to move all this stuff again anytime in the next 10 years ). While we were in Florida we were fortunate enough to find that Rustys friend's older brother mow's lawns. Now, he will be mowing our lawn in Florida for the rest of the season so we don't have to worry about it -- what a relief.

Vacation Bible school went over great. Zeke made a personal decision during the week and has asked to get baptised. We are holding off on the Baptism until we know that he really understands and has truly made a decision. His behavior and attitudes around the house have made an amazing change in the past 2 weeks. Problems we have been struggling with for 3 years have all but disappeared. It has been wonderful.

Football camp for Russell went well too. He got a chance to get out and stretch his legs, and make an impression on some of the local coaches. He did quite well. Tomorrow the boys both have the draft or tryouts for the local football teams. I am not sure why Zeke has to go since the younger boys automatically go to the same club as their older brothers, but he does, and it should be a fun couple of hours of football.

Chris' deployment has been pushed off another week now. He will be leaving the first week of August. Originally, his deployment was not to interfere with any of our birthdays or important events this year. It has been a bit frustrating to see it slowly slip and begin to consume first Zeke's birthday, then Chris' birthday, and now in jeopardy of interfering with our Anniversary. You would think after all these years of dealing with the slips etc. . . it would get easier, but I am not sure it does.

The puppy is eating solid food and I'm not sure how much nursing she is doing anymore, but we are about to split her from here mother in the next week or so that momma can dry up and stop nursing all together. Baby ( who has now become Chris' dog and still has no name ) is doing pretty well with the house breaking. She does her business outside whenever we take her out. YEAH!!

My mom and dad rode with us out to West Virginia from Ohio on Monday, so dad got to see the house. It was nice. They bought Chris' old truck. I miss it already. On the positive side, we can see the old truck any time we go to Grandma and Grandpa's house, and our insurance is a few hundred dollars less each year. :D
